| In December 2004, eBay launched the first phase of My Messages. We are now pleased to announce the expansion of My Messages onsite and in the associated API calls. |

In addition to combating spoof, My Messages is now the central place for eBay API developers (and their customers) to receive all their critical messages from eBay (Auction Cancellations, Collection Notices, Customer Support responses, etc.) |

| My Messages is the place for users to receive secure, relevant messages directly from eBay and other eBay members. All messages originate from eBay systems and are guaranteed to be authentic. If it affects your eBay account, it's in My Messages. |

| Through My Messages, eBay provides all users with: |
| |
- A secure Inbox to receive important alerts about their account requiring immediate attention (examples include: Unpaid Item Reminders, Item not Received, Auction Cancellations, Collections Notices, etc.)
- A central location to receive and manage Customer Support responses AND member-to-member communications (like Ask a Question, Best Offer, Second Chance Offers)
- Monthly seller invoices for listing and final value fees
- As well as useful information about buying and selling, activities, and events

| For eBay developers, we have added functionality to the existing APIs and built one additional call: |
| |
- GetMyMessages – to retrieve summary info, header info, or full alert or message bodies
- ReviseMyMessages – to update read and flag states AND to file messages to user-defined folders
- DeleteMyMessages – to delete a message from a folder
- ReviseMyMessagesFolders – to create, remove, rename up to 10 user-defined folders

| In combination with the other eBay APIs, the functionality of My Messages to send/receive messages, alerts and offers, is in your hands. My Messages is an exciting opportunity for eBay developers to consolidate all alert and member messages into their applications. |
